At Health Access Now, we believe no one should have to choose between their health and their financial well-being. Every year, millions of Americans struggle to afford essential medications, despite the existence of over 1,500 Prescription Assistance Programs (PAPs) offered by major pharmaceutical companies.
Since 2010, Health Access Now has helped over 45,000 Americans save more than $100 million on prescription drugs.
Prescription assistance programs (PAPs) can be difficult to navigate because of complex application processes, strict eligibility requirements, lengthy paperwork, and a lack of transparency regarding program details, often making it challenging for patients to access the help they need to afford their medications.
Our dedicated Prescription Advocates take the burden off of them - providing fast, secure, and hassle-free services that assist them in qualifying for savings for their specialty medications.
And since protecting one's privacy is just as important as protecting one's health, we remain fully HIPAA compliant, with strict safeguards in place to keep personal information confidential and secure.
Whether uninsured, underinsured, or overwhelmed by the cost of prescriptions, we’re here to guide the process every step of the way. Best part for them is, there’s never a charge if we can't help then save.
Help with medication savings shouldn't be a privilege. With Health Access Now, it’s a promise.
About PAPs
A prescription assistance program (PAP) is a service
designed to help individuals afford prescription
medications. These programs typically aim at
uninsured, underinsured, or struggling individuals
and families with high out-of-pocket costs for
specialty medications. Pharmaceutical companies,
nonprofit organizations, government agencies, or
private discount networks are the typical sponsors
of PAP programs.
Who Benefits from PAPs?
Uninsured individuals Those without
health insurance can use PAPs to access
affordable medication.
Underinsured individuals People whose
insurance doesn’t cover certain drugs or has
high deductibles or co-pays can use these
programs to offset costs.
Low-income families Many PAPs are
specifically designed to support vulnerable
populations.

Our Solution
Easy to Explain Over the Phone or
Online We have made it super easy and quick to search and
request assistance. We have developed a personalized,
white-labeled web page for brokers and CSRs to
follow a simple process to submit a request for PAP assistance.
Entering the first few letters of a
medication name can determine if there is a PAP program
available. If the medication is found in
the list, a PAP program is available. If not,
there are no current programs for that medication.
If there is a program available...
your team member completes
and submits the simple form with the prospect
online. We do the rest, from contacting the prospect
to handling the entire approval process for them.
If the prospect has any questions...
or is not prepared
to submit the form, we provide easy-to-read
information about prescription assistance
programs along with FAQs. If a prospect is still not
ready to continue, the site can be shared with them to
complete the process later with the same ease.
Frequently Asked Questions
How hard is it to qualify for a program?
To qualify for a Prescription Assistance Program, one must meet certain income guidelines to be eligible. These guidelines vary depending on the medication. After completing a request form, our team will reach out to assess eligibility based on established program criteria.
Would one ever be without their medication?
No. Whether approved for a program or not, they will continue to receive their medication. Only difference would be, if approved, they would be paying a lot less for it!
What would we need from them?
We make it so easy to securely share information with us which would include information about their medication, doctor, household size and income. Once provided, they can simply sit back and we will go to work!
Can one still apply if they have other coverage?
Not if they are enrolled in Medicaid or Medicare. Otherwise they can definitely apply whether they have health insurance or not. We’re here to assist, no matter their coverage situation.
How would we protect their information?
First, we would get a HIPAA authorization to allow us work with their doctor and the assistance program on their behalf. We never share their information for any reason other than to get them qualified and approved for prescription savings.
Do they need to pay anything to apply to a program?
No. Attempting to get them approved does not cost them anything. We hand-hold them through the whole process, ensuring they get the best service we have to offer. It’s that easy!
How long does it usually take to get approved?
Program qualification can take 2 to 4 weeks after we receive all the necessary paperwork from them and their healthcare provider.
If they get approved, what will they need to pay?
With our service, they would only pay for a medication - if and only if - they are approved by the program. Regardless of how expensive the medication was, they will never pay more than $50 per month.
How do they get medication and refills if approved?
The first batch of medication usually arrives a week or so after approval. The pharmaceutical manufacturer determines the specific delivery location and method. For medications requiring temperature control, the program pharmacy ships them on dry ice to ensure their safety.
What can they do if the medication is not in the list?
No worries! Our medication catalog is regularly updated, and the medication might just make it on the list soon.
